Dog Handlers

 

Dog Handlers - Handlers are responsible for feeding, cleaning, harnessing, and caring for the dog teams. Each handler is is assigned 28 dogs, and one take off chute and sled. Handlers prepare the dog teams and sleds so the guides can focus on their guests. This is a physically demanding job; handlers need to be in good shape, capable of working on their feet all day. No mushing experience is required, although prior animal experience is helpful.
