Tyrell Seavey
Tyrell Seavey, 23,
was born in Alaska into an Iditarod family and began
mushing as soon as he was born. His grandfather, Dan,
and his two brothers, Danny and Dallas, are Iditarod
veterans; his father Mitch is the 2004 Iditarod
champion. Tyrell has raced the Iditarod twice, finishing
36th in 2003 and 16th in 2005, and he won the Jr.
Iditarod in 2001. He graduated from the University of
Montana in 2007 and is marrying Telka Backlund on
January 2nd, 2008.
