ididaride sled dog tours
History
When Mitch began once again focusing on Iditarod victory in the early 90's he realized he needed a way to train
his dogs during the summer months and also raise the necessary funds to support his winter racing efforts.
To accommodate these needs Mitch founded the family tour operation in 1993. Ididaride has grown steadily over the
years, our guests enthralled by the intrigue of the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race and the family racing lifestyle.
During the 1.5 hour tour, experience the thrill of the Alaska sled dogs in action as they captivate your senses on a
two mile dog sled ride through the wilderness; participate in interactive demonstrations and discussions and visit
with some of our new puppies. Or, experience our full-day package tour which includes a historic town tour, a hearty
lunch at a local lodge, a trip out to Seward's awe-inspiring Exit Glacier, and Ididaride's 1.5 hour tour.
All tours are led by an Iditarod
racer.
During the winter months, Iditarod sled dog race tours are conducted out of the Seavey family's racing kennel in Sterling, Alaska, 80 miles
from Seward.
