Exit Glacier By Dog Team
Learn to drive a dog team! On our winter dog sled tour, mush a dog team down Resurrection River Valley right to Exit Glacier. The road is closed in the winter, so dog team is one of the only ways you can see the glacier in the winter. The trail is wide and easy to maneuver, so anyone can learn. We’ll stop at the glacier and enjoy a trail lunch and hot chocolate. Make sure you bring your camera – the scenery is incredible, and we often see moose and eagles. This is our favorite tour; you really get to experience the Alaskan wilderness, and will leave with an understanding and appreciation of sled dogs. Not recommended for children under six years old. Duration: 3.5 hours Custom tours available for groups and events. All tours are by reservation only. Please call (907) 224-8607 for reservations. It is usually between 20F to 35F and somewhere between snowing and clear. We cancel trips if it’s less than -10F or raining. There is usually a breeze on the Exit Glacier trip. Tours are hands-on, and exclusive. Trips are almost always limited to just one family, and there will be an experienced guide for every two guests. Do I need to bring my own gear? Do I really get to drive my own team? There are X number of people in our group. Will we each get to drive a dog team? What time of year do you recommend? Are reservations required?
